Feeding the Compassionate Wolf is a labor of love founded by two friends who feel compelled to do something rather than nothing.
Our Founders
I’m intuitive, idealistic, and pragmatic. I’m also a mom, wife, scientist turned project manager. I’m acutely aware of the deep interconnectedness of all things. I worry about the health of the planet we leave our children. I’m an intuitive idealist. I see the world for all its possibilities. I’m pragmatic. I believe the solution to complex problems requires multilayered action. I love thought provoking conversation with anyone who challenges me to see the world in new ways. I believe we are stronger together. That’s why I’m here. I want to be with people who help bring out the best in me and with whom I can help build a better world.
I am a nomad, a seeker, and a thinker. I strive for self-awareness and try my darnedest to live deliberately and with intent. I’m on a mission to neutralize the effect of narcissistic leaders and, more generally, make the world a better place to work. As I mature into the latter decades of my life I am also feeling an urgency to speak out about what I have learned and try to pass on some wisdom so that those who come after my generation don’t make the same mistakes that we made. And as America — my adopted country — heads into a new political era, I have never been more certain that all of us must make our voices heard to sculpt the lives, careers, organizations, and countries, that we want. I sometimes feel like I have been silent too long.
Born in Southern Ontario, Canada, I moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona with my parents at the sweet young age of 16. Since then I have lived around the US and the world, learning, teaching, and working. My professional life has focused in the areas of networking, careers, team dynamics, and leadership development. I am also the author of the book Helpful: A Guide to Life, Careers, and the Art of Networking.
My background and education have given me a global perspective. I have worked across the US, in Canada, and in the UK, spanning companies such as Cisco Systems, MetLife, United Healthcare, Research in Motion, and the pension department of the British government. I earned an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.S. in applied mathematics from Purdue University. You can learn more about me on my professional website at heatherhollick.com.
