Our Predicament
All is not right with the world. We are deeply concerned with the health of our planet, the human condition, increasing economic inequality, our struggles with democracy, and our ability to live together.
We’ve lost touch with ourselves, with each other, and with nature. Along the way we lost a sense of vision for who we want to be. Most of all, we’ve lost touch with our deep interconnectedness with the web of life.
The Compassionate Wolf community was created to explore what to do now and provide some solidarity as we seek to figure out what we might do next.
We strive to be environmentally minded, globally conscious individuals who come together to support and encourage each other as we collectively explore how we want to be in the world — as individuals, as members of our various communities, and as denizens of the only planet that we know of capable of supporting human life.
Compassionate Wolf exists because we acknowledge the fierce urgency of now. Change is happening at many levels everywhere around the globe. We want to be part of that change in the hope that we can influence it in a positive direction.
We are deeply concerned with the health of our planet, the human condition, and our ability to live together. We’ve lost touch with who we are. We’ve lost a sense of vision for who we want to be. And we’ve lost touch with our deep interconnectedness and how we want to be together.
Our Approach
We believe that it is important to truly understand the problem before we rush off headlong implementing “solutions” that may or may not address the underlying problem(s). We also believe that the paths to harmony on the planet radiate from each of us — from a million points of light. There is no single solution or a unitary movement. There are only millions of us learning and doing together what we can each do in our own neighborhoods and communities.
So we created Feeding the Compassionate Wolf to bring people together from around the world to learn from each other, support one another, and band together in solidarity.
Our Commitment to One Another
We vow…
- To support and encourage each other as we decide how we want to be as individuals.
- To reconnect with ourselves and others as we jointly pursue our most authentic lives.
- To build respectful, supportive, sustainable communities.
- To learn how to live more lightly on the planet — to take only pictures and leave only footprints, as the slogan for the US National Park Service so brilliantly admonishes.
- To build habits and practices that protect and nurture our planet’s health.
- To do all that we can to pass on a livable planet to our children, and to children’s children down through seven generations.
- To build empathy, to honor and enrich our connectedness.
- To value and leverage our unique talents so that we can be stronger together.
- To bring together our collective knowledge and experience to explore new solutions to age old challenges.
Change is happening. Climate change, We want to be influence that change for the good.
