Any successful change movement is an embodiment of multiple systems of change. Unfortunately, people active in one system often become antagonistic towards people using other tactics. When they all collaborate with one another they become greater than the sum of their parts.
Plants live in a complex ecosystem of other plants, microbes, and animals. When it comes to growing food, if you are not leveraging this ecosystem then you are not farming — or gardening.
The key is to face reality without getting overwhelmed by it. It’s about making three choices.
